Monika Murugesan is Vice President of Product Management at Sentient Energy. She focuses on our portfolio roadmaps, innovation, strategy, and customer success. Monika is passionate about the energy industry and solving customer challenges with intelligent analytics.

Before joining Sentient Energy, Monika held multiple roles during her 16-year career at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. She was responsible for global protective relay portfolios at SEL. In this role, she created the vision, strategy, and structure for product management. Prior to her product management leadership role, Monika led international business operations where she created a global strategy and grew the SEL footprint overseas. Before the business and product management roles, she was responsible for designing and developing world-class protective relays.

Before joining SEL, Monika developed voice-enabled systems and isolation algorithms to identify patterns in patients’ DNA for the pharmaceutical industry.

Monika earned her Executive M.B.A from Washington State University, M.S in Computer Engineering from Arizona State University, and bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Government College of Technology, India.

Monika is an award-winning Toastmaster speaker. She enjoys mentoring and coaching individuals in the product management discipline and is a keynote speaker at the Society of Women Engineer events and entrepreneur events.
